Over 1,000 participants joined the 32nd Teacher’s Day Walkathon at Taman Haji Sir Muda Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien in the heart of the capital yesterday.
Minister of Education Datin Seri Setia Dr Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Mohd Salleh, the guest of honour, officiated and joined the walkathon.
Permanent secretaries and deputy permanent secretaries at the Ministry of Education (MoE), heads of departments, senior officials and school leaders from the MoE and Ministry of Religious Affairs were also present.
The minister and participants joined a warm-up exercise prior to the three-kilometre walk aimed at strengthening ties among staff of the ministries, encouraging a healthy lifestyle and supporting the Ministry of Health’s BN on the Move initiative.
