Over 100 pints of blood were collected at a two-day blood donation drive, organised by Mabohai Shopping Complex at its premises on February 3 and 5, in collaboration with the Blood Donation Centre of Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital.

A total of 104 donors turned up, with majority being repeat donors and a few donating for the first time.

Prior to health screening, the donors underwent antigen rapid testing (ART) and practised social distancing as part of the standard operating procedures. They were also encouraged to book appointments via the Bloodkad app, and received a free health check prior to donating.

Mabohai Shopping Complex Manager Yee-Man Cheng expressed appreciation to the visitors for participating in the campaign.

“The blood drive served to help replenish the blood bank’s supply, which has been running low for months. The event also allowed us to come together to make a difference and save lives,” said Cheng, adding that the next blood donation drive has been earmarked for April.
