In conjunction with the Maulidur Rasul celebration, Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) held a Mawlid Akbar recently at UNISSA’s Auditorium Hall.
One-hundred-and-fifteen guests attended, comprising UNISSA students, UNISSA Alumni Association members and invitees from the Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan, Universiti Brunei Darussalam and Universiti Teknologi Brunei.
The ceremony began with the mass Isyak prayer, followed by the Mawlid reading and religious talk on ‘Receiving the Intercession of the Prophet (pbuh)’ by Head of the UNISSA Alumni Office Dr Hafini bin Mahmud.
The event ended with the mass recitation of Selawat Tafrijiyyah.
The celebration was organised by the Education Unit of the UNISSA Alumni Association together with the Religious Unit and Surau Al-Syafi’i Takmir Committee Unit of the Student Representative Council for the 2021/2022 session.
Among the objectives were to increase the youth’s love for Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), instilling piety in oneself and strengthening friendship between students from various higher education institutions.
