The Diplomatic Corps hosted a farewell dinner for outgoing High Commissioner of Canada to Brunei Darussalam Jeanette Stovel at Mutiara Ballroom of the Radisson Hotel yesterday night.
Ambassador of Oman to Brunei Darussalam Sheikh Ahmed bin Hashel Al-Maskari, who is also the Dean of Diplomatic Corps, said, “On behalf of the Diplomatic Corps, I would like to congratulate Jeanette Stovel, for representing Canada with great distinction since her accreditation to Brunei on September 2019, and for ensuring that the relations between the Sultanate and Canada remains sound and develops further.”
Jeanette Stovel, extended her appreciation to His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, members of the royal family, the Government of Brunei and the Diplomatic Corps for their full cooperation and support during her tenure in the country.
She said, “I am very grateful to His Majesty’s Government and its people for keeping us safe.”
Sheikh Ahmed presented the outgoing envoy with a bouquet of flowers on behalf of the Diplomatic Corps.
Jeanette Stovel presented her Letter of Credence to His Majesty on September 18, 2019.
