Perbadanan Tabung Amanah Islam Brunei (Perbadanan TAIB), Insurans Islam TAIB Holdings Sdn Bhd and Darussalam Holdings Sdn Bhd held a Tedarus Al-Quran and donation handover ceremony at the RPN Kampong Bukit Beruang Mosque.
Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Defence II Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Perbadanan TAIB attended the event.
Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Mohd Tashim bin Pengiran Haji Hassan as the Deputy Chairman of Perbadanan TAIB; Assistant State Mufti (‘Ifta) Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Dennie bin Haji Abdullah as the Chairman of the Perbadanan TAIB Syariah Advisory Committee were also present.
A series of donations were presented to the Pengiran Muda Mahkota Al-Muhtadee Billah Fund for Orphans (DANA). The first donation of BND100,000 was made from Perbadanan TAIB.
The second donation of BND10,000 was made by Insurans Islam TAIB General Takaful and BND10,000 from Insurans Islam TAIB Family Takaful. The third donation of BND10,000 was made by Darussalam Holdings.
The donations were received by Permanent Secretary for Planning, Land Use and Environment at the Ministry of Development as the Acting Chief Executive Office of the DANA Dr Nor Imtihan binti Haji Abdul Razak.
The ceremony also saw 15 orphans of Perbadanan TAIB and its subsidiaries’ staff and 32 orphans from Kampong Bukit Beruang receiving donations. The ceremony concluded with the distributions of iftar meal packs via a drive-through to underprivileged residents in which Perbadanan TAIB partnered with Brunei Darussalam Red Crescent Society in the Projek Sadaqah Kotak Makanan Sungkai programme.
Meanwhile, the Kampong Kilanas Mosque Takmir committee held a Khatam Al-Quran ceremony yesterday.
Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi attended the event.
Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Nazmi bin Haji Mohamad was the guest of honour.
Ten orphans in Kampong Kilanas also received donations to ease their preparation for the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration.
