Organisations learn fire safety

Izah Azahari

Officers and staff of Kingston Beverage and Creamery Sdn Bhd recently took part in a three-day Fire Marshal course carried out by the Public Relations Division of the Operation ‘A’ Branch at the Fire and Rescue Department (FRD).

During the course, participants went through fire safety theory and practice, and carried out an in-house fire drill.

The participants learnt the causes of fire, actions that need to be taken when facing a fire at the workplace, handling fire extinguishers and fire blankets, as well as how to save oneself when trapped in a building during a fire incident.

Meanwhile, the Public Relations Division of the Operation ‘E’ Branch recently organised a fire safety briefing for officers and staff at the Clinical Molecular Diagnostic Laboratory for Infectious Disease in the Tutong District.

DSO Mohd Azlan delivered the briefing on using fire extinguishers, the dangers of fire and how to deal with small fires at work or home.

The department advised the public to always be aware of fire safety and be alert for fire hazards when doing work whether it is inside a premise or outdoors.
