Since the Centre for British Teachers (CfBT) Education Services’ humble beginnings with just 15 British teachers, it has grown, learned and developed into the mature organisation it is today, said CfBT Country Manager Dr Louise Pagden during the organisation’s 40th anniversary celebration at the Malay Technology Museum yesterday.
“Today, we are a workforce of 245 people from all over the world.”
She added, “Over the past 40 years in Brunei, CfBT has not only taught English in almost every government school in the country but has also been deeply committed to leaving a positive legacy beyond the classroom. Our staff have shared their expertise and experience with their colleagues.”
Looking ahead, Dr Pagden expressed optimism for the future: “The next chapter for CfBT Brunei holds tremendous potential for growth and innovation, particularly as we continue to deepen our partnership with the Ministry of Education and local organisations. Together, we will adapt our strategies to meet the evolving needs of learners and educators alike while remaining steadfast in our vision of contributing to Brunei’s aspiration for a high-quality education system.”
Following the speech, guests watched a 40th-anniversary video, participated in the cake-cutting ceremony and toured an exhibition.
