Operators ready for re-opening of child centres

My Baby Genius Childcare owner Pengiran Hajah Dewi Sarhani @ Pengiran Hajah Fatin Faezah binti Pengiran Sarpudin yesterday said the announcement on the re-opening of child care centres (CCC) by the Community Development Department (JAPEM) under the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports was “welcoming”.

The centre will now be operating at an 80-per-cent capacity, up from 30 per cent during the early endemic phase.

“When the government announced that the centres need to be closed to curb the pandemic, we were unable to pay rent, staff’s salary and monthly expense,” Pengiran Hajah Dewi Sarhani said.

“Alhamdulillah, the government has provided financial assistance under the National Welfare System (SKN) for affected businesses or individuals.

“At 80 per cent capacity, our centre can accept up to 21 children at a time,” she added.

“We are doing everything we can to prevent any outbreaks and hoped parents place their trust on us in looking after their children at the centre.

“Before allowing the centre to operate, JAPEM also conducted an inspection and provided guidelines such as installing Hepa filter in every rooms and areas,” she added.
