The Law Enforcement Division of the Labour Department conducted an operation to ensure compliance with the Employment Order 2009.
The inspection, which focused on air conditioning repair businesses in Kampong Serusop, revealed six violations committed by the employers.
Among the offences were employing foreign workers without a proper permit, using workers from another company’s guarantee, and assigning workers with incorrect job titles. Other violations included the failure to grant leave on public holidays, provide paid annual leave and issue written employment contracts.
The employers, if found guilty will face a compound fine of upto BND1,000. – Fadley Faisal
