Businesses joining Brunei Mega Sale came under scrutiny during a joint operation by the Industry and Business Ecosystem Division (IBE) through its Weights and Measures (SDT) Unit and the Department of Economic Planning and Statistics (JPES) through its Department of Consumer Affairs (DCA).
SDT Unit officers checked 47 units of weighing machines during the operation, targetting Kampong Serusop in the Brunei-Muara District, and all were found accurate and registered with the unit.
Customers are advised to make sure weighing and measuring machines are valid and come with registration stickers issued by the SDT Unit.
JPES also reminded businesses to be ethical and Brunei Mega Sale participants to have price lists ready for the department’s officers during inspections.
