A culinary workshop to empower single mothers was organised by the Britain Brunei Business Forum (BBBF) yesterday.
The workshop was held in collaboration with @singlemamaspeaks.bn, a non-government al organisation supporting single mothers in Brunei Darussalam, and Laksamana College of Business (LCB). Two culinary instructors from LCB taught attendees how to make pastries.
BBBF Chairperson Pengiran Aki Ismasufian bin Pengiran Haji Ibrahim said, “We recognise the challenges single mothers face in balancing work, family and personal growth and this workshop aims to bridge the skills gap and promote sustainable livelihoods. It is also our way to recognise single mothers by providing them with an afternoon of knowledge and network with fellow single mothers and the committee members of the BBBF.”
Founder of @singlemamaspeaks.bn Sarina binti Hasnal said, “As the founder of this community, I have witnessed the determination and strength of our members and I am delighted to co-organise a workshop to empower them to embrace new challenges and to have a delightful afternoon of creating memories with fellow single mothers.” – Lyna Mohamad
