Open Day promotes innovation in public service

The Anugerah Inovasi Perdana (AIP) 2025 Open Day was held yesterday at the Multipurpose Hall, Bahirah Building, Audit Department, organised by the Management Services Department (MSD) at the Prime Minister’s Office as the AIP Secretariat.

The event aimed to encourage participation in AIP 2025, which is now officially open to all civil service agencies, including strategic joint ventures between the government and private sector under the Public Private Partnership (PPP) initiative, particularly those that enhance the quality of public service delivery to benefit citizens.

A key feature of the Open Day was the AIP Consultation Counter, which offered guidance and support for those interested in submitting entries.

The event also showcased exhibitions of past innovation projects from various government agencies, including the Department of Laboratory Services at the Ministry of Health; Department of Labour at the Ministry of Home Affairs; Department of Schools at the Ministry of Education; Directorate of Development and Work Services at the Ministry of Defence; Immigration and National Registration Department at the Ministry of Home Affairs; and the Public Service Commission.

A blood donation campaign was also held in collaboration with the Department of Laboratory Services, and imagine Sdn Bhd.

The AIP serves as a platform to recognise innovation within the public service by acknowledging projects – either individual or group – that have delivered impactful and measurable improvements in service delivery.

The AIP 2025 welcomes quality submissions with potential to serve as benchmarks and best practices within the public sector. The closing date for submissions is on April 30. For further information, interested parties may contact the AIP Secretariat at aip@msd.gov.bn.

The MSD expressed hope that the Open Day would encourage broader participation in AIP 2025 and further cultivate a culture of continuous innovation, strengthening public service excellence in the Sultanate.
