On the prowl

UPI – The ‘Hound’, developed by the Dynamic Robot Control and Design Laboratory at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology in Daejeon, South Korea, earned the title of the fastest robot on four legs.

This accolade was achieved as the HOUND covered a distance of 328 feet in an impressive 19.87 seconds. Guinness World Records officially recognised the Hound’s accomplishment, confirming its breaking of the record for the fastest 100 metres run by a quadrupedal robot.

“In simulation, it can accelerate to even higher speeds, but we haven’t tested it in the real world yet,” Young-Ha Shin, the robot’s designer, told Guinness World Records.
