Offenders nabbed in operation

Two individuals were detained by the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) for the alleged in possession of four homemade firearms and another incomplete firearm during a taskforce operation conducted on Sunday. Three persons were also detained for the alleged involvement in misuse of drugs by Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB).

Meanwhile, during a roadblock, one individual was detained by NCB for alleged involvement in the misuse of drugs, and 14 foreigners detained by the Immigration and National Registration Department (INRD) for failing to produce travel documents and are believed to be employed for troubled companies as well as listed as runaway workers.

According to the RBPF, a task force comprising personnel of the INRD, the Royal Customs and Excise Department, Internal Security Department, the Labour Department, NCB and Brunei-Muara District Office has been established to curb any criminal activities in the Sultanate.

Several locations in Brunei-Muara District were targetted: Kampong Burung Pingai Ayer and Kampong Sungai Asam for crime prevention operations while the roadblock was conducted at the junction of Jalan Kasat and Jalan Lumapas.
