Oceania Insignia passengers enchanted by local attractions

The cruise ship Oceania Insignia docked at the Muara Port Terminal yesterday, carrying some 601 passengers and 400 crew members to visit the Sultanate.

The Oceania Insignia last visited the previous year, and is the fourth international cruise ship to visit the Sultanate this year, with the last being the Crystal Symphony on March 10.

The tourists were provided with opportunities to embark tour packages to explore the country’s famous landmarks including the Royal Regalia Museum; Jame’ Asr Hassanil Bolkiah; Sultan Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Mosque; Istana Nurul Iman and Kampong Ayer.

During their brief stay, the tourists also had the opportunity to purchase a wide range of traditional Bruneian souvenirs.

Steve, an American passenger experienced Brunei for the first time and was captivated by the tranquility of Muara Recreational Beach.

As a beach lover, he managed to take memorable photographs.

Lili from Australia found the architectural designs of the country’s iconic mosques “amazing“, and shared that her exploration of Kampong Ayer was an enchanting experience.

Elena from the United Kingdom, a first time visitor, expressed her delight at being able to visit Istana Nurul Iman. She added that she enjoyed the lush green environment and vibrant wildlife.

Brunei Darussalam is set to welcome two more cruise ships this year, with the next one scheduled to make its inaugural visit to the Sultanate.

The Seven Seas Explorer is anticipated to arrive in Brunei’s waters on November 28. – James Kon
