Occasional showers and thundershowers are expected with winds up to 45 kilometres per hour until next Sunday, the Brunei Darussalam Meteorological Department (BDMD) stated yesterday.
Over Brunei waters, the sea state is generally slight to moderate, up to 1.2 metres.
The country is currently in the Inter-Monsoon season.
During this season the weather is generally sunny, with thunderstorms potentially occuring inland in the afternoon and spreading to the coast and sea at night.
The release added, “Thunderstorms can be heavy and gusty at times and there is risk of flash floods or flooding during the upcoming Inter-monsoon season.
“Members of the public are advised to take precautionary action with respect to the forecasted active weather conditions. There is risk of flash floods, especially in low-lying and flood prone areas as well as near the river banks during continuous heavy rain that may last for over one hour and during high tides. Risks of landslide and falling trees are also possible during heavy showers and gusty condition.
“Public, road users and fishermen are advised to stay up to date with the latest weather forecast, advisory and warning issued by the BDMD, and to take necessary actions to ensure personal safety.”
