Some 120 students attended a nationhood briefing programme at Lambak Kiri Secondary School yesterday with the session aimed at strengthening solidarity, patriotism and the nationhood spirit among the students.
The session was conducted by the Nationhood Unit, Strategic Communication Section, Publication and Strategic Communication Division of the Information Department, Prime Minister’s Office with Acting Information Officer and Acting Head of Strategic Communication Section Hajah Noorhijrah binti Haji Idris leading the briefing.
The students were briefed on the role of the monarch, the nation’s history, the proper procedure in hoisting the national flag, and the background of the national anthem ‘Allah Peliharakan Sultan’.
The students also had the opportunity to participate in a nationhood quiz aimed at reinforcing their understanding of the topics shared.
The programme is part of a series designed to foster patriotism, unity, and national identity among the students, and strengthen their appreciation of Brunei’s heritage and values.
Senior teacher of Student Affairs Maswani binti Haji Ahmad and other academic staff also attended the briefing. – Lyna Mohamad
