Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) and Huawei Brunei Sdn Bhd on Monday launched Seeds for the Future program, with the objective to nurture the Brunei youth as they embark on the journey to become the country’s future leaders.

Present at the opening ceremony held at UNISSA Hall was Minister of Education Datin Seri Setia Dr Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Mohd Salleh.

UNISSA Dean of Faculty of Islamic Technology Professor Dr  Haji Abdul Hafidz bin Haji Omar said that the collaboration between the two organisations will see investment for their development, while providing them with knowledge on key technologies, such as 5G, Cloud Computing, AI (Artificial Intelligence), Robotics, Machine Learning, and Deep Learning.

Meanwhile, CEO of Huawei Brunei Tong Wei Shiang said, the long-term vision is to inspire young talents to shape the future and support local talent development towards the goal of Wawasan Brunei 2035.

He added that Seeds for the Future is Huawei Brunei’s corporate-level flagship corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative, with the longest history. He said more than 139 countries have joined, with over 15,000 students benefiting from the initiative, and 162 of them are from Brunei.
