Nurses association raises over BND22K for humanitarian aid

Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Nazmi bin Haji Mohamad received a donation of BND22,884 from the Brunei Darussalam Nurses Association (PENJURU) for the Humanitarian Fund for Palestinians in Gaza 2023 in a handover ceremony at the ministry’s building yesterday.

PENJURU President Datin Paduka Hajah Suraya Noraidah binti Abdullah presented the donations. The funds were collected through a donation drive conducted by PENJURU members, government hospital and clinic staff nationwide.

Community Development Department (JAPEM) Acting Director Siti Zaharah binti Haji Abdul Razak, officials from the JAPEM and PENJURU members witnessed the event. The collection period for the Humanitarian Fund for Palestinians in Gaza 2023 has been extended until April 18, 2025. Individuals or groups intending to organise donation drives for the fund must seek approval from JAPEM, the Secretariat for the National Committee for the Humanitarian Fund for Palestinians in Gaza 2023.

Registered individuals, associations, or agencies, wishing to donate only part of their proceeds from entertainment activities, must seek approval from the Ministry of Home Affairs.

The public can also contribute online via Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam (BIBD) through account number 00-001-01-0089051 or by using BIBD QuickPay by scanning the QR codes printed on posters and stickers for the Humanitarian Fund for Palestinians in Gaza 2023.

Donation boxes are also available at mosques, surau, religious halls, banks, shopping malls, and public buildings nationwide. The public can also donate directly to the secretariat at JAPEM during office hours. – Fadley Faisal
