No mukims in red, orange zones

For several consecutive weeks, there have been no mukims in red zone (over 80 new cases) or orange zone (41 to 80 cases) in the latest map of newly diagnosed COVID-19 cases in the Sultanate between January 9 to 15.

Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar said at a press conference yesterday, “To provide a clearer picture of the location of the positive cases detected in the country, the Ministry of Health would like to share some of the results of the
research conducted.

“Between January 9 and 15, Alhamdulillah, no mukims had over 40 cases; 19 mukims or 48.7 per cent had between one to 40 cases and 20 mukims (51.3 per cent) had zero cases.”

There has been a drop in the number of mukims with zero COVID-19 cases and an increase of two mukims in the yellow zone (one to 40 cases) compared to last week.

For the map of diagnosed covid-19 cases between January 1 and 8, 17 mukims (43.6 per cent) had between one and 40 cases and 22 mukims (56.4 per cent) had zero cases.
