A house in Kampong Perpindahan Lambak Kanan was damaged by a fire recently. No injuries were reported.
The fire engulfed the garage and part of a two-storey house with concrete and spandek roofing. It also spread to some old cars used to obtain spare parts, according to the Fire and Rescue Department.
Some nine firefighters from the Lambak Kanan Fire Station doused the fire in about 10 minutes.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
In light of this incident, the public is advised to have fire extinguishers and blankets at homes, and to turn off electrical appliances when not in use or before leaving the premises.
Electrical wiring installations should be performed by accredited companies according to standards set by the Department of Electrical Services. – James Kon
