Eighteen firefighters from Pengkalan Batu Fire Station with support from Beribi Fire Station responded to a fire distress call at 1.39pm in Kampong Bebatik, Kilanas recently.
The firefighters, led by ASO Haji Aedanan bin Haji Kurus arrived to find the fire had engulfed two bungalow houses.
The residents were evacuated before the arrival of the firefighters.
The fire was put under control within 15 minutes.
No injuries were reported and the cause and damages are under investigation.
The Fire and Rescue Department reminded the public to ensure electrical wiring is done by companies accredited by the Department of Electrical Services.
