No infections detected among Arabic school students

    Azlan Othman

Some 2,158 antigen rapid tests (ARTs) administered to Arabic school students in the first stage of Early Endemic Phase saw all students testing negative for COVID-19.

Only one student showed a positive result but was later proven to be false by a PCR test.

This was said by Minister of Religious Affairs Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman during a press conference yesterday.

The minister added that testing for Arabic schools at the start of the second stage of Early Endemic Phase tomorrow will be conducted at Arabic schools while for religious school students will be tested at their secondary schools.

COVID testing is conducted once a week but the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) through the Islamic Studies Department, will give the students a form to be stamped when they take the test at their secondary schools. The form will allow the students to have face-to-face learning at religious schools.

The minister also expressed appreciation to teachers, parents, students and other parties for enabling teaching and learning to be carried out in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs).
