Nineteen individuals from academic and hospitality industry practitioners in the Sultanate completed the Train the Trainers for ASEAN National Trainer in Food Production training programme on Saturday.
Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism (MPRT) Hajah Tutiaty binti Haji Abdul Wahab, the guest of honour, presented certificates to the participants.
The training, held from November 26 to 30 at Parkview Hotel, was conducted by ASEAN Master Trainers Pak I Ketut Adhi Astawan from Indonesia and Chef Clinton V Gregorio from
the Philippines.
The programme, organised by the MPRT through the Tourism Development Department (TDD), aimed to enhance the skills and knowledge of local trainers in food production.
The participants were equipped with the latest industry standards and best practices, enabling them to deliver high-quality training programmes to the next generation of tourism professionals. The completion of the programme marked a milestone in the development of Brunei’s tourism industry.
The training programme is in line with Brunei Darussalam Tourism Industry Roadmap (2024-2035) and the Manpower Industry Steering Committee for Hospitality and Tourism (MISC H&T) goals to upskill and reskill the workforce with the right competencies and attributes to stay relevant in the job market and ensure employability to increase capacity building development through appropriate training and workshops for stakeholders in the tourism industry.
The ASEAN National Trainer in Food Production training has equipped participants with the knowledge, skills and attitudes to train, develop and conduct training programmes nationwide. It will contribute to the development of a highly skilled hospitality workforce and drive the growth of the tourism sector.
