I recall reading an Opinion letter published a few months ago about a resident complaining of loud car noises in their neighbourhood.
I face a similar issue, but in our case, the noise comes from people singing karaoke into the early hours of the morning.
While I can understand if this happens occasionally, such as during wedding celebrations where the singing might continue until midnight, the situation in our area occurs almost every night.
It is especially troubling for my father, who wakes up early to perform Subuh prayers at a nearby mosque at 5am, only to be greeted by a group of karaoke enthusiasts belting out deafening tunes right across from our home.
I appeal to everyone to be considerate of your neighbours. We don’t mind if you enjoy singing karaoke, but kindly control the volume and avoid disrupting others’ sleep.
A little thoughtfulness can go a long way in maintaining harmony in our community.
