Los Angeles (ANN/KOREA HERALD) — K-pop sensation NewJeans secured the title of Group of the Year at the 2024 Billboard Women in Music Awards.
The five-member group received the award during the ceremony held in Los Angeles on Wednesday. Their win followed a captivating stage performance of “Super Shy” and “ETA,” where they donned costumes inspired by school uniforms.
During the acceptance speech, Hanni expressed the surreal experience of participating in the awards and conveyed gratitude to fellow artists. “It’s hard to believe we’re in the same room as you all,” Hanni stated. “I’d like to thank all the artists that are here because without your music, I don’t think we would have been able to grow up so inspired. Our love and passion for music has grown so much, thanks to you all.”
Danielle added to the excitement by confirming the group’s imminent return with a new album, addressing speculations circulating among fans. NewJeans has consistently proven their musical prowess, securing spots on Billboard’s Hot 100 with five songs last year and achieving the top position on the Billboard 200 within a year of their debut.
