New supplies for students in need

Four religious schools in Temburong District conducted the Minna Ilaikum 2.0 programme in conjunction with the new school term, marking the second time that the Welfare and Community Unit (UKBKM) of Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) organised the programme.

Religious schools in Kampong Semabat, Kampong Amo, Kampong Selangan and Kampong Bokok were involved.

The programme channels schooling needs to students at the religious schools and provides a platform for UNISSA members to carry out good deeds and share happiness through the contribution of school stationery items for those in need.

The contribution is hoped to ease the burden of underprivileged parents while boosting the students’ spirit to start the school term with new supplies.

The project under the Minna Ilaikum programme collected funds through a charity run during the university’s recent annual sports event, food bazaar as well as contributions in the form of funds and schooling materials.

Fifty-three students received the contributions at a handover ceremony.

Dean of Students at UNISSA Nurhafizatulhikmah binti Haji Seribini attended the ceremony.
