Quality local content as well as content creators and production companies are being showcased at the Brunei Content Festival (BCF) 2023 Screening and Exhibition launched at The Mall, Gadong yesterday.
Authority for Info-communications Technology Industry of Brunei Darussalam (AITI) Chief Executive Ir Haji Jailani bin Haji Buntar officiated the event that also included the launch of Kontenkitani.bn portal.
The three-day event will showcase screenings of contents by local production companies competing in BCF 2023 Awards. There will also be an exhibition of production companies’ services and talents, contents from institutions of higher learning, quizzes, games and other activities.
The newly-launched portal will provide information for the public and the industry to find suitable production houses, talent and freelance service.
Registered companies and freelancers can also publish industry events, promotions and advertisements.
Production companies and freelancers are encouraged to register themselves since Kontenkitani.bn aims to be a reference for content creation services.
AITI Acting Assistant Chief Executive (Industry Development Group) Siti Zaraura binti Haji Mohammad said, “The BCF aims to be an established event to promote the production of quality local content by local content creators and to acknowledge their hard work and efforts. We reward them with recognition, prizes and publicity through our annual BCF Award Night.
“One of the highlights of BCF is the showcase of over 80 contents submitted for the BCF Award. Entries vary in genre from advertisements to music videos and short films with unique Bruneian identity. They are being assessed by a panel of judges and the winners will be announced next week at BCF Award Night.”
The exhibition that ends tomorrow is open from 10am to 10pm while the award ceremony is on September 12. – James Kon
