The inauguration ceremony of the Brunei-Muara District mukim penghulus and village heads signboards was held yesterday for five positions that have been filled.
They include the penghulu of Mukim Zone 2, Kampong Ayer; village head of Kampong Belimbing; village head of Kampong Pulau Baru-Baru, Sungai Bunga and Tanjong Kindana; as well as the village head of Kampong Menunggol.
Permanent Secretary (Municipal and District) at the Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) Abdul Walid bin Haji Matassan officiated the event which began at the residence of Legislative Council (LegCo) member cum Kampong Belimbing Village Head Yang Berhormat Haji Daud bin Jihan who was elected on December 12, 2022, followed by the residence of LegCo member cum Kampong Subok Village Head Yang Berhormat Lawi bin Haji Lamat elected on November 1, 2022.
Abdul Walid continued on to the residences of Kampong Pulau Baru-Baru, Sungai Bunga and Tanjong Kindana Village Head Zaini bin Haji Salleh, who was elected on May 16, 2022, and Kampong Menunggol Village Head Haji Ibrahim bin Haji Osman elected on December 12, 2022.
The event concluded at the event was the residence of Penghulu of Mukim Zone 2 in Kampong Ayer Raimi bin Rashid elected December 12, 2022.
Also present at the ceremony was Brunei-Muara District Officer Misle bin Haji Abdul Karim, senior officers at the MoHA and members of mukim and village consultative councils as well as mukim and village residents.
