New EV charging point in Gadong

A new electric vehicle (EV) charging point was launched by Maju Motors Sdn Bhd, distributor for BYD EVs in Brunei, at The Mall yesterday.

The charging point, near Maju Motors’ satellite showroom, features two 22-kilowatt (kW) global standard chargers.

Maju Motors Chairman Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Ratna Wijaya Brigadier General (Rtd) Pengiran Haji Hasnan bin Pengiran Ahmad, Executive Directors Stanley Lim Hock Ghim and Pengiran Mohammad Abdul Aziz bin Pengiran Ratna Wijaya Brigadier General (Rtd) Pengiran Haji Hasnan, Managing Director Chan Key Hong and Abdul Razak Holdings Director Haji Suhaimei bin Haji Besar launched the charging point.

Chan said the 22kW charger is the first in a shopping area and free for BYD owners, adding that there are plans for more in other shopping centres.

The managing director also said there will be a 66kW super charger to be launched at Maju Motors showroom next week.

The super charger can charge a BYD EV from zero to 100 kilometres in less than one hour. – James Kon
