Brunei Darussalam Central Bank (BDCB) unveiled the Mekar FinTech Innovation Centre last Thursday, a strategic project under the Financial Sector Blueprint 2016-2025 2021-2025.
Located at the iCentre Building, Kg Anggerek Desa, it serves as a platform for businesses to seek guidance on regulatory matters, as well as a centre to promote collaboration and innovation among the FinTech community by providing modern coworking facilities and a collaborative event space for FinTech stakeholders.
Managing Director of BDCB Hajah Rokiah binti Haji Badar in her keynote address during the launch highlighted that the center is intended to be a catalyst for FinTech innovation by providing a platform for FinTech stakeholders, including entrepreneurs, industry experts, technology providers, academia and the regulator to collaborate and drive innovation and support the growth of FinTech activities in Brunei Darussalam.
