The establishment of the upcoming 2024-2025 Brunei Futsal League organised by the Football Association of Brunei Darussalam (FABD) will pose a huge challenge for participating teams in an effort to improve the quality of the tournament.
This was said by FABD President Feisal Eusoff in his opening speech during the FABD Dialogue Session with futsal clubs at the FABD House recently.
The president expressed confidence that the tournament will be more competitive, thus improving the tournament’s quality.
“Although at every tournament, we often focus on the aspect of competition, the team management should also cooperate with sportsmanship, close the gap and try to develop the talent and potential of the players,” he said.
Feisal also called for close cooperation and commitment from the clubs to make this year’s tournament a success.
The tournament is expected to start in August which will be split into two groups of 10 teams each.
According to FABD Executive Committee Member Pengiran Haji Kamarunsalehin bin Pengiran Haji Kamis who is also the Chairman of the Futsal Tournament Committee, Group 1 will be lined up by the 10 best teams from the 2023 Brunei Futsal League meet. They will need to play 18 games in a two-round league.
Meanwhile, Group 2 will see new teams make their appearances in a league format. The champion will have the opportunity to play in Group 1 in the following season.
