One of the new segments at this year’s celebration to mark Royal Brunei Armed Forces‘ (RBAF) 63rd anniversary celebration is the solidarity jump involving Special Forces’ members from 10 countries with defence ties to RBAF, said Colonel Muhammad Wata bin Abdullah Awat as the chairman of the RBAF’s 63rd anniversary celebration.
“They have been invited to join the parachute event on the day of the celebration,” he said.
Colonel Muhammad Wata said in playing its role as a catalyst in empowering nation sovereignty, the RBAF has undergone changes and evolution in the past six decades.
He said this in his remarks during a handover ceremony for the RBAF’s 63rd anniversary posters at Wira Seni Concert Hall, RBAF Band Building, Bolkiah Garrison yesterday.
The event, themed ‘Together in Accomplishing the National Vision’, “reflects RBAF’s commitment to support the long term development of Brunei Vision 2035”, said Colonel Muhammad Wata.
He said, “RBAF’s anniversary is celebrated on May 31 annually. This year’s celebration is set to take place on June 1 at the Royal Brunei Armed Forces’ Training Institute, Penanjong Garrison in the Tutong District.”
The event commenced with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and saw the chairman presenting some 300 anniversary posters published by the Public Relations Unit at the Ministry of Defence to representatives from other ministries, departments and RBAF units. – James Kon
