Over 400 packs of bubur kacang were distributed by the Belait District Senior Citizens Association (PWEDB) to celebrate Hari Raya Aidiladha yesterday.
It was held at the Belait District branch of the Youth and Sports Department.
The distribution was conducted via a drive-through.
Association President Dr Haji Mohd Shah bin Imam Haji Ahmad and its co-chairman and former penghulu of Mukim Belait Haji Pungut bin Ali were in attendance.
General Secretary and organising chairman Mohd Yunos bin Haji Pungut, in an interview with the Bulletin, said that the event is held annually with the objective of giving back to the community.
A Doa Selamat was also held, attended by the association’s advisor Pehin Datu Padukaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Shari bin Ahmad and his spouse.
The association also handed out over 60 boxes of second-hand clothing to visitors.
PWEDB will conduct more activities this month, including a stage performance by its members in conjunction with the 76th birthday celebration of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, at Tudung Saji, Kuala Belait; the recitation of Al-Quran and a course on Fardhu Kifayah.
