Nearly 1,000 killed in traffic accidents across Myanmar between January and May

YANGON (XINHUA) – A total of 984 people were killed and 2,737 others injured in 1,843 accidents recorded across Myanmar between January and May this year, according to the Road Transport Administration Department yesterday.

The number of casualties in road accidents in the cited period is down compared to 1,162 deaths and 3,049 injuries in 2,173 accidents that occurred in the same period a year earlier, the figures showed.
