Nationwide prayers for National Day tomorrow

Muslims are welcome to join Doa Kesyukuran, Maghrib and Isyak prayers and recitation of Surah Yaasiin at mosques, suraus and religious halls nationwide to mark the country’s 38th National Day celebration tomorrow at 5.45pm.

The focus for the prayer congregation is at the Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Mosque in the capital.
Brunei Darussalam will celebrate its National Day with a Grand Assembly and Parade at Taman Haji Sir Muda Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien on Wednesday.

Other mosques that are focal points include Jame’ ‘Asr Hassanil Bolkiah in Kampong Kiarong, Hassanal Bolkiah Mosque in Kampong Mentiri, Al-Ameerah Al-Hajjah Maryam mosque in Kampong Jerudong, Mohamed Bolkiah Mosque in Kampong Serusop, Sultan Sharif Ali Mosque in Kampong Sengkurong, Al-Muhtadee Billah Mosque in Kampong Sungai Kebun, Setia Ali Mosque in Pekan Muara, and Perpindahan Lambak Kanan Mosque.

Meanwhile in Belait District, the focal points are at Mohammad Jamalul Alam mosque, RPN Kampong Pandan mosque, and Pekan Seria mosque.

For Tutong District, it is at Hassanal Bolkiah Mosque and for Temburong at Utama Mohammad Salleh Mosque in Pekan Bangar.

The theme for this year’s National Day celebration is ‘Accomplishing the National Vision’.

Congregants should follow guidelines set by the Ministry of Health such as taking ablution before going to the mosque, wearing face masks, to bring their own large sized prayer mat, scan the QR code with the BruHealth app, take body temperature, sanitise their hands, practise social distancing and leave as soon as the event ends.

Congregants are also advised not to shake hands.
