Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) held a flag hoisting ceremony at the Chancellor Hall yesterday.
The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat followed with the handing over of the national flag by UBD Vice-Chancellor Dr Hazri bin Haji Kifle to UBD Military Cadet members, who conducted the flag hoisting ceremony accompanied by the mass singing of the national anthem led by UBD Students Council and Choir Club members.
The Students Affairs Section organised the ceremony to instil and strengthen the patriotic spirit and uphold and realise the nation’s hope through the theme ‘Bersatu Mencapai Cita Negara’.
Meanwhile, the university’s Spiritual and Community Service Unit of the Student Affairs Section and UBD Student Association (PMUBD) held an Israk Mikraj celebration featuring a special Tadabbur Al-Quran on ‘Israk Mikraj Agung Buat Insan Pilihan’.
Mosque Affairs Officer at the Ministry of Religious Affairs Pengiran Ahmad Faris Ramadhani bin Pengiran Haji Sellahhuddin delivered the lecture. – Lyna Mohamad & Rokiah Mahmud
Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali
Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) through its Student Affairs Office and Co-Curriculum Unit of the Centre for the Promotion of Knowledge and Language held a flag hoisting ceremony at the university premises yesterday.
The ceremony commenced with a march-past comprising UNISSA’s uniformed team including army cadet, police cadet, fire and rescue cadet; Rover Scout Crew 1102 and Red Crescent team.
UNISSA Rector Dr Haji Norarfan bin Haji Zainal inspected UNISSA’s uniformed teams and handed over the national flag to Rover Scout Crew 1102 Muhammad Azfarizul Faqhri bin Azaman as team head, who was also the recipient of the Baden-Powell Award. – Rokiah Mahmud
Brunei Darussalam Scouts Association
The Brunei Darussalam Scouts Association (PPNBD) held a flag hoisting ceremony at its headquarters in Beribi, Gadong.
Among those present were PPNBD President Dato Paduka Ar Haji Idris bin Haji Abas and Scouts Chief Commissioner Haji Junaidi bin Haji Hussain as well as national scout council members, scout commissioners, assistant scout commissioners, scout leaders as well as junior, venture and rover scouts members.
The flag hoisting was carried out by rover scout members from Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali accompanied by the singing of the national anthem. – Lyna Mohamad
