The Information Department at the Prime Minister’s Office held a nationhood briefing programme ‘Our Monarch, Appreciating the Flag and National Anthem of Brunei Darussalam’ in the Brunei-Muara and Temburong districts.
In the Brunei-Muara District, the nationhood briefing conducted by the Nationhood Unit, Strategic Communications Division was held at Nusa Laila Puteri School in Kampong Jangsak.
Some 33 Year 7 students listened to the briefing by Nationhood Unit officer Mohammad Khaiddir Shah bin Haji Abdul Halim.
The school’s principal Dalilah Syazwi @ Dalilah Farzana binti Haji Laidin and teachers were present.
Meanwhile, in the Temburong District, some 55 students from Year 5, 6, 7 and 8 of Temburong Arabic School attended the briefing conducted by the Temburong District Information Branch. Temburong District Information Branch head Izzah Hazirah binti Haji Adi Othman presented the briefing.
The school’s principal Serikartini binti Haji Omar and teachers were present.
The Information Department also continued the programme at Chung Hua Middle School in Kuala Belait recently.
Some 79 Year 7 students attended the briefing held at the school’s auditorium hall.
Deputy Principal Valarie Kong Yun and teaching staff were present.
The briefing by Assistant Information Officer as the Head of the Nationhood Unit, Information Department Hajah Noorhijrah binti Haji Idris, touched on the monarch, the history and proper procedure of hoisting the national flag and the history of the national anthem ‘Allah Peliharakan Sultan’. The students also watched the animation video screening of the procedure of hoisting the national flag
and participated in a national quiz to further increase their understanding of the briefing.
The programme is one of the ongoing efforts of the Information Department in sowing love for the monarch, religion, race and the country. – Fadhil Yunus
