The Information Department under the Prime Minister’s Office continued its nationwide outreach through the “Our King, Appreciating the National Flag and Anthem of Brunei Darussalam” briefing programme with a session held at Sultan Muhammad Jamalul Alam Secondary School (SMJA) on Monday.
The briefing, organised by the department’s Strategic Communications Section under the Nationhood Unit, was attended by 179 Year 7 students and held at the school’s Bilik Mumtaz.

Also present were Deputy Principal (Administration) Suhana binti Ramli, Deputy Principal (Academic) Paridah binti Haji Bayong, along with members of the teaching staff.
Acting Information Officer and Acting Head of the Strategic Communications Section, Hajah Noorhijrah binti Haji Idris, delivered the talk, which highlighted the role of the monarch, the history and protocol of raising the national flag, and the significance of Brunei Darussalam’s national anthem, Allah Peliharakan Sultan.
To further engage the students, a nationhood quiz was also held, testing their understanding of the topics covered during the session. Prizes were later awarded to the winners by the Deputy Principal (Administration).
The programme is part of the Information Department’s ongoing efforts to instil love and loyalty towards the Monarch, religion, nation and country among the younger generation. It also aims to strengthen the spirit of patriotism, unity and national identity among students.
