Brunei Darussalam’s men and women softball team left yesterday to compete in the Master’s Fastpitch Softball 2023, Pattaya, Chonburi, Thailand from today to October 23.
The teams competing at the Horseshoe Point Resort and Country Club are the host Thailand, Brunei Darussalam, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia and Singapore.
Men’s Master team coach Abdul Kani bin Sapian said they took the second spot at the 8th Men’s East Asia Softball Master’s 2022 in Singapore.
They will do their best to win this year, he added.
In term of preparation, he said, “We have been training for two months and every Sunday morning, we practiced on the field. Indonesia and Hong Kong will be the top teams to beat in this competition.” He advised his players to stay focus, be mentally strong and use good communications. Brunei Amateur Softball and Baseball Association (BASBA) President Pehin Orang Kaya Lela Pahlawan Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Mohd Jaafar bin Haji Abdul Aziz handed over Brunei Darussalam national flag to the teams.
