The national futsal team have been drawn in Group ‘F’ of the upcoming Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Futsal Asian Cup 2024 Qualifiers following a draw ceremony at the AFC House in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia recently.

The Wasps will be playing against Kuwait, Timor Leste and Bahrain which have been designated as group hosts.

AFC Deputy Director of Commitee Strategy and Professional Football Pavel Luzanov conducted the draw.

Thirty-one member associations affiliated by the AFC will be taking part in the competition.

The seeding for the draw was based on AFC Futsal Asian Cup 2022 rankings.

Teams that did not participate in that competition – China, India and Macau – have been added as the lowest ranked teams.

The qualifiers will be organised without applying the zoning principle as per the decision of the AFC Futsal and Beach Soccer Committee on October 7 last year.

Participating teams will be divided into seven groups of four teams and one group of three teams.

Fifteen teams including eight group winners and seven best second place runners-up teams will advance to the final phase of the competition.

The host of the competition which will be decided at a later stage will receive automatic qualification to the final round of the competition.

The qualifying competition is slated to be held from October 7 to 11.
