    National Day preparations underway

    The 39th National Day will be commemorated by all levels of society with exuberance to celebrate Bruneian excellence while also preserving the Malay Islamic Monarchy (MIB) national philosophy as the Sultanate’s lasting identity.

    This was said by Minister of Development Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Muhammad Juanda bin Haji Abdul Rashid as Acting Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports during the first meeting of executive committee members for Brunei Darussalam’s 39th National Day celebration at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS) on Saturday.

    The minister also expressed gratitude to His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam for the appointment of the executive committee members as well as thanked all parties involved in the organisation and success of the 38th National Day celebration.

    Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Muhammad Juanda hopes that the committee will fulfil the tasks entrusted on them to make next year’s celebration, which belongs to all residents of the Sultanate, a success.

    The minister urged committee members to offer opinions and recommendations to achieve the objective of a celebration reflecting the nation’s proud status on the global stage with the spirits of unity and patriotism.

    Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Muhammad Juanda then conveyed gratitude to Allah the Almighty for a successful 38th National Day celebration filled with nationalism, joy and liveliness in accordance with the Ministry of Health (MoH) standard operating procedures (SOPs).

    Among the meeting’s agendas included reports and recommendations from secretariats and working committees for current preparations, logo and theme, field performances, parade and dates for rehearsals. The meeting also discussed guidelines for the Doa Kesyukuran ceremony and other related activities.

    Deputy Minister (Civil Service Governance) at the Prime Minister’s Office Dato Seri Paduka Mohd Riza bin Dato Paduka Haji Mohd Yunos, Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Mohd Tashim bin Pengiran Haji Hassan and Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan were also present.
