Colourful lights adorn the streets and buildings at major roads in the country as the country is set to celebrate the 77th birthday of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam.
Preparations for the royal birthday celebrations are now in full swing, with arches, banners and decorative lightings being set up around the capital.
Congratulatory arches have been erected at various public places including Bandar Seri Begawan, Jalan Tutong and Jalan Gadong.
Government ministries and departments as well as private companies are also busy constructing arches at their premises.
Commercial establishments, too, have put up yellow banners, while congratulatory banners can also be seen on lampposts along the main roads. – Azlan Othman
