XINHUA – Myanmar’s manufacturing sector received USD75 million from 23 foreign enterprises from April to August, the state-run Global New Light of Myanmar reported yesterday.
The media report, citing statistics released by the Directorate of Investment and Company Administration, said the sector mainly focuses on garment and textile production.
During the period, the transport and communication sector attracted the most foreign direct investments with USD83 million, followed by the manufacturing sector with USD75 million, and the services sector with USD44 million, it added.
The Myanmar Investment Commission approved 26 foreign projects from seven countries, totalling over USD207 million in investments in the above period, it said.
