Muslims are encouraged to read Surah Al-Mulk as it assists the faithful during judgement day and their sins will be forgiven, according to a Hadith of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh).
Surah Al-Mulk also saves its reciters from the torments of the grave.
This was highlighted by Acting Deputy Ra’es of Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan (KUPU SB) Dr Haji Abang Hadzmin bin Haji Abang Taha during Munajat on Saturday night. He also led the reading of Sayyidul Istighfar and Surah Al-Fatihah from the KUPU SB surau.
The event saw a recitation of Surah Al-Mulk, Doa Munajat, Zikir Taubat and Doa Peliharakan Sultan dan Negara Brunei Darussalam.
Attendees included Brunei Arabic Language Association members, KUPU SB employees and mosque takmir committee members and youth from Kampong Sungai Hanching Mosque as well as congregants from 88 other mosques, suraus and religious halls.
