Forty Muslim converts and their families received alms yesterday from a welfare project operated by the Islamic Da’wah Centre (PDI) in collaboration with the Nationwide Converts Association.

Minister of Religious Affairs Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman presented the donations from the public, collected through the Fathul Barakah 4.0 project.

The project was initiated to help accommodate the daily needs of the poor and destitute converts, to enable them to better carry out their religious obligations.

It also served to increase the converts’ appreciation of Islam and strengthen ties between the converts association and the PDI by jointly carrying out charity work for the well-being of converts.
