The Munajat night organised by the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) continued for its 40th week on Saturday night, attended by congregants from 98 mosques, suraus and religious halls nationwide.
Minister of Religious Affairs Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman and Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs Pengiran Dato Seri Setia Haji Mohd Tashim bin Pengiran Haji Hassan participated in the religious event, which aimed to seek forgiveness from Allah the Almighty by conducting munajat, istighfar, reciting Surah Yaasiin and Zikir to safeguard the people of Brunei Darussalam against all disasters especially COVID-19.
Personnel from the Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) along with their family members also took part.
The night began with the recitation of Sayyidul Istighfar led by Permanent Secretary (Safety and Welfare) at the MoHA Salminan bin Haji Burut, followed by the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah by Permanent Secretary (Municipal and District) at the MoHA Abdul Walid bin Haji Matassan. Both recitations were broadcast virtually from the Fire and Rescue Department’s (FRD) Surau.
The event continued with a mass recitation of Surah Yaasiin led by Acting Secretary of Brunei Islamic Religious Council (MUIB) Haji Abdul Aziz bin Haji Akop from Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah Mosque in Kampong Sungai Kelugos, Tutong District.
The Doa Munajat was read by Syariah Subordinate Court Judge of the State Judiciary Department Md Shah bin Haji Taib.
A Tazkirah titled ‘Aktifkan Doa’ was delivered by Assistant Prison Counsellor at the Prisons Department Fariszal bin Ali broadcast from Paduka Seri Begawan Sultan Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Mosque in Kampong Katimahar.
The ceremony concluded with the recitation of Asmaa Ul-Husna and Selawat by probationary prisons officer Mohammad Yunus bin Mohamad from FRD’s Surau, while Doa Peliharakan Sultan dan Negara Brunei Darussalam was read by mosque officer Pengiran Mohd Amiruddin bin Pengiran Haji Tejudin from Kampong Kasat Mosque.
