Munajat highlights importance of equipping family with religious values

One must practise a way of life that prioritises the hereafter, which is, to live a great family life with religious education to create a family blessed by Allah the Almighty, said religious teacher from Rimba II Secondary School Omardi bin Haji Abu Bakar.

“Among the characteristics of a great family is one that utilises Islamic Syariah as guidelines in life, creating family harmony through good communication, making the family happy by creating a peaceful atmosphere that is occupied by feelings of love and compassion (Sakinah, Mawaddah, Warahmah), and to always love and protect the family,” he said at the 134th Munajat night on Saturday.

Director of Religious Body at the Brunei Malay Teachers Association (PGGMB) Haji Rusli bin Haji Mohd Salleh led the recitation of Sayyidul Istighfar and Surah Al-Fatihah from Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Damit Mosque in Mukim Kilanas.

PGGMB members, teachers and students of Institut Tahfiz Al-Quran Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah, mosque committee members and congregants from nearly 65 mosques, suraus and religious halls as well as the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) workforce also participated.

The Munajat night also saw the recitation of Surah Al-Waqi’ah, Doa Munajat, Selawat Tafrijiyyah and Doa Peliharakan Sultan dan Negara Brunei Darussalam.

The Munajat night was organised by the MoRA to invite the ummah to work together to improve their collective spiritual act. – Azlan Othman
