“We as servants of Allah the Almighty, were created to devote ourselves and worship Him,” said Da’wah and Tabligh Supervisor at Islamic Dakwah Centre Pengiran Norhayati binti Pengiran Haji Kasharan.
“We are entrusted to be caliphs, managing the life of the Earth where we live, and are tested to prepare ourselves with righteous deeds for our afterlife. This journey of life is full of trials and tribulations,” she added during a munajat night at Universiti Brunei Darussalam Mosque on Saturday. She said there are times when the tests seem very painful and we may seem unsure of which direction to go.
“But know that Allah the Almighty does not leave us alone. With His love, He helps us in many ways. Among them is the revelation of the complete guide Al-Quran,” said Pengiran Norhayati.
Vice-Chancellor of Universiti Teknologi Brunei Datin Paduka Professor Dr Hajah Zohrah binti Haji Sulaiman, attending as a representative of the Minister of Education, led the recitation of Sayyidul Istighfar and Surah Al-Fatihah.
The Ministry of Religious Affairs organised the weekly event for the 136th time with the Ministry of Education.
The event also saw the reading of Surah Al-Waqi’ah, Doa Munajat, Selawat Tafrijiyyah and ended with Doa Peliharakan Sultan dan Negara Brunei Darussalam. – Azlan Othman
