As Muslims are days away from ushering the month of Zulhijjah, a month in the Islamic calendar dedicated to haj pilgrimage and sacrificial worship, Imams in the Friday sermon yesterday called on the Ummah to multiply their pious act in the first 10 days of Zulhijjah as righteous deeds performed these days are better than those performed on any other day and are considered better than returning from fighting in the path of Allah the Almighty.
Among the most important practices that should be performed and multiplied these days are to increase Sunnat prayers, observe Sunnat fasting and intensify Zikir recitation.
The highly recommended fast is on the day of Arafah which is on 9th of Zulhijjah.
Muslims who fast on that day will be rewarded with forgiveness of a year’s sins prior to the last Arafah Day as well as a year’s sins after the upcoming Arafah Day.
On 10th of Zulhijjah which is Aidiladha, Imams called on Ummah to fill the day with recitation of Takbir glorifying Allah the Almighty, perform Sunnat Aidiladha prayers and to carry out sacrificial worship.
